Born in Saida (Lebanon), Edna Politi has lived un Beirut,Jerusalem, Berlin, Paris and Geneva. After completing a BA in Art History and Middle-East History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and working as a film editor, she studied film direction at the Deutsche Film und Fernsehakademie in Berlin.
Since 1979, she has worked principally as an independant film author/director, and has produced most of her films, first at the Films del ¡¯Archange, then at Contrechamps Musiques du 20¨¨me si¨¨cle, and finally for Contrechamps Productions that she founded in 1991.
